Back in 2012, a new wearable digital company got its start with an infamous Kickstarter campaign. How does it sound to have your calendar, notifications, and SMS response capability directly on your wrist?!  In 2018, every digital device maker produces their own answer to the question, and I have no doubt that you are possibly even wearing a Samsung Gear or Apple iWatch right now.

Well, I chose to jump on the Pebble bandwagon in 2015 and purchased the Pebble Time Round for me and my wife.  I absolutely loved the minimalist size and professional appearance.  People usually do not even notice that I wore a smartwatch.  Here is a picture of my watches today.

Fast forward to 2017. Pebble and its team are acquired by Fitbit and the Pebble services now had a defined lifespan.  To whom should I turn in my moment of need?  Thankfully, the team at Rebble.io had begun to formulate an answer.  By June of 2018, the Rebble.io team announced a concrete plan to roll over existing Pebble accounts to their new Rebble.io services and extend the life (and development) of Pebble devices.

I chose to sign up for the paid services as I wanted to see location based weather and other services. I was so happy with the seamless transition, that I bought a new (to me :)) Pebble Time. I had been on the fence for a while, but I wanted to wear a watch while swimming with my children. With the combination of Pebble’s original innovations and Rebble.io’s continued services, continued enjoyment of my Pebble watches will continue for years to come.
Major thank you to the Rebble.io team!
